In one evening, 300 generous hearts united for let there be hope 2010 to raise $1,081,758 to transform the lives of people living in extreme poverty in Robit, Ethiopia. Every penny that was invested through our project auction will provide women, men and children with access to clean water, education, heath care, and micro-finance loans.

The projects in Robit include:

  • 52 hand-dug water wells
  • 1 deep borehole well
  • 1 fully equipped medical center including inpatient and outpatient wards, a pharmacy and delivery room serving 25,000 people
  • 5 school buildings with 20 classrooms and separate girls' and boys'
  • 1 school library
  • $162,000 available for micro-finance loans

The micro-finance loans will enable the women and men of Robit to lift themselves out of extreme poverty and onto the first rung of the ladder towards prosperity for themselves and their children. Because of the outpouring of support at let there be hope 2010, in 12-18 months the people of Robit will begin a new chapter in their story.

Thanks to all our amazing sponsors who made it possible for us to put on this event, allowing us to put every dollar raised at the event directly toward projects in Robit.
