This project will formalize PRISM functionality by consolidating all current functionality into modules and themes which can be repeatedly installed on new PRISM sites. This creates value by allowing PRISM to be used simultaneously for multiple sites – our headquarters site, Glimmer Austin, and outside non-profits – with a standard install procedure over a base Drupal installation. Furthermore, it will allow us to keep all versions of PRISM up to date as we introduce new functionality, regardless of what internal customizations any specific organization has made. 

Strategically, this positions Glimmer to offer and use PRISM to a variety of organizations with a defined installation and customization procedure. As a result, we can potentially license the PRISM software, either to assist organizations in need or as a revenue stream to support operations.

The result of this project will be a set of custom Drupal modules, a custom Drupal theme, and a custom Drupal sub-theme. The modules and theme will be able to be installed on any existing Drupal 6 site to provide baseline PRISM functionality, and the sub-theme will include any theme elements specific to Glimmer HQ that don’t belong in other installations of PRISM.
