With its lush green overgrowth and dense thickets of banana trees, the village of Chuko in southern Ethiopia could be easily confused with the tropics. It is the kind of place where children play marbles among the ferns while adults sit closely by, working and chatting amongst themselves outside their huts. Home to just over 2200 people, Chuko is a small community that feels more like a large family than a town.
