Settled deep in the green, rolling hills of southern Ethiopia, Dube Bute is a vibrant, rural community of more than 4200 people. Though the village itself is spread widely across miles of hills and valleys, community members spend much of their time in the town center. Surrounded by dozens of huts and small mud buildings, the village center plays host to spontaneous sports matches, Saturday markets, and town meetings. It is where the pulse of the community – its joy and laughter and camaraderie – can truly be felt.
