Tri4Glimmer is a campaign that resides under the umbrella of Playing for Glimmer. In 2008, Coach Strecker raced a 70.3 mile Ironman event and he asked people to sponsor him as part of the Playing for Glimmer Campaign. With the help of friends and family Coach Strecker raised $3,500.00 dollars. This year, again in conjunction with Playing for Glimmer, Coach Strecker will be racing an 140.6 mile Ironman event in Louisville, KY and the goal in conjunction with the children from Austin Tennis Academy is to raise $25,000.00 dollars to complete the health clinic and a school project in the Wudhet Village of rural Ethiopia. Tri4Glimmer is a campaign that resides under the umbrella of Playing for Glimmer, which was created by Josh Hagar.
A Glimmer of Hope helps lifts women and children out of extreme poverty in rural Ethiopia. Using an entrepreneurial model it provides clean water, schools, health clinics and micro-finance loans, one village at a time. 100% of all donations go directly to funding these projects. Glimmer’s endowment covers all its operating expenses and even replaces credit card transaction fees. Every dollar donated through Glimmer reaches the people in need. Over the last 10 years, Glimmer has completed more than 5000 projects and improved 2.4 million lives.
