Pirates Dig a Well is one of Branson High School's humanitarian aid projects for the 2010-2011 school year. As a school and a community we will be raising $10,000 to build a Shallow Bore Well which means that A Glimmer of Hope will bring in their well digging machine that will dig deep down into the main watershed of Ethiopia. The water shed is absolutely clean and sanitary. With this well, not only will it save every day lives, but it will put a community's women and small children out of harms way. That means that children will have their mothers, and the community will be well off. Thank you so much for wanting to know more about our project and we hope you enjoy.
Our Campaign, Pirates Dig A Well goal is to raise funds to develop Water and Sanitation for the village of Chuko Weyama through three school events: Change for Change, Pirates Silent Auction, and Run 4 Water.
A Glimmer of Hope helps lifts women and children out of extreme poverty in rural Ethiopia. Using an entrepreneurial model it provides clean water, schools, health clinics and micro-finance loans, one village at a time. 100% of all donations go directly to funding these projects. Glimmer’s endowment covers all its operating expenses and even replaces credit card transaction fees. Every dollar donated through Glimmer reaches the people in need. Over the last 10 years, Glimmer has completed more than 5000 projects and 2.4 million lives.

What is this project about:
Run 4 Water will be our BIGGEST event to raise the funds for Branson
Schools Pirates Dig a Well humanitarian project. The race is a school
sponsored event that will make the experience real for every
volunteer involved- whether you choose to run or walk 4 water. What does it feel like to walk 6 miles or more with 45 pounds of water- 2x a day? The walk will help raise funds with individualized pledges, as well as the community participation in the fundraiser to benefit the Pirates Dig a Well project. You
also have the option of carrying two,1 gallon water containers to feel
the authentication of not having access clean water available. We will
make the statement, as a community, that every single person near or far
deserves life and water!!!
