This February 12th, Keira will be turning 7! As I began to discuss plans for Keira's birthday with her I asked her what any mom would, "what do you want for your birthday?" Keira couldn't come up with any answers! Christmas just passed by and it seems our sweet, almost 7 year old, has everything she wants! The more we talked about it the more she realized that while she has everything a child could ask for, there are many children out there who don't even have the basic necessities in their lives.
So, in honor of our special birthday girl, we are asking that a donation be made to help bring clean water to the children of Tercha, Ethiopia. Keira's good friends, Tigist and Mihiretu are from this area in Ethiopia and she wanted to help out the country where they came from.
Each year over 250,000 children die each year from diahrrea caused by the water they drink. 80% of all illness in Ethiopia is caused by dirty water. We can help change this for hundreds of people by providing a clean water project in the town of Tercha.
We are teaming up with a great organization, "A Glimmer of Hope". Over the last 10 years they have helped improve the lives of over 2.5 million people by providing clean water, health care and schools. They have an amazing 100% promise that ensures that every single dollar you give will reach the people in Ethiopia. A seperate endowment was created that covers ALL overhead operating expenses, and even reimburses the credit card fee so that every penny makes a difference!
