Friends, Family, and Colleagues:
This is my campaign to raise funds to improve lives in the village of Gule in Ethiopia.
I am teaming up with “A Glimmer of Hope” organization (NGO) to lift women and children out of extreme poverty in rural Ethiopia. The reason I chose A Glimmer of Hope is that the entrepreneurial model they have developed to provide clean water, education, health clinics and microfinance loans to improve the lives of millions of people is efficient and effective.
Charitable organizations suffer greatly during economic downturns. As I’m sure you can relate, charity donations are discretionary items most of us cut out of our budgets when times are tough. And sadly, that is when donations are needed the most. So one solution is to widen the cast and reach out to hundreds of people asking for as little as $5, $10, or $15. I know most of us can afford that but probably feel it would not make much of a difference. Multiply that by a few hundreds and it will add up quickly.
Another important fact is that at A Glimmer of Hope, 100% of all donations go directly to funding these projects, more than 4,000 to date. Over the last 10 years, A Glimmer of Hope has improved 2.5 million lives. Through photos, video and GPS coordinates, donors personally experience how their contributions, large and small, are changing lives.
By supporting my campaign, you can choose to receive email updates throughout the year on the project we complete together and the lives touched by it. You can also start your own campaign. Recently, founders Donna and Philip Berber were ranked #6 globally on Barron's list of The Best 25 Givers, based on effectiveness and impact.
I greatly appreciate your support of my campaign. On behalf of those whose lives are forever transformed by your generosity, thank you.
