" ... Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act ..." -- Proverbs 24:12 Dube Bute is a village in Southern Ethiopia that is in need of hope. There is currently no clean water, limited health resources, and a very limited education system. The people there are in extreme poverty. But even more than that, Dube Bute is a village that I have become very personally attached to. Why? Because one of my favorite people, Eyasu Alexander, spent the first two years of his life there. He was eventually given up for adoption, as he was very sick (22 months old and weighing 16 pounds) but he left behind 4 biological brothers and sisters. "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." 1 Thessalonians 2:8 Eyasu is such an important part of my life that his biological family has become important as well. His four siblings live with their uncle and his four children, and all nine of them are in need of HOPE. The first way to provide that hope is to meet their basic needs. "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in" Matthew 25:35 We are blessed to have the opportunity to play a small role in God's BIG plan. Eyasu's parents, Moody and Emily Alexander, have committed to provide 18 water sources, a health post, a vet clinic, and a 2 facility school. But, they can't do it alone! I am confident that the Lord will provide the funds, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to witness His provision first hand. Would you care to join? Let's bring HOPE to Dube Bute by providing one of the wells. Thanks for coming alongside my friends and me as we choose to come alongside the people of Dube Bute... Blessings, Callie P.S. 100% of all donations go directly to projects in Dube Bute. Even the PayPal transaction fee is covered by the Glimmer endowment!
