I'm working with Glimmer to provide emergency relief for the people of Ethiopia.
A Glimmer of Hope helps lifts women and children out of extreme poverty in rural Ethiopia. Using an entrepreneurial model it provides clean water, schools, health clinics and micro-finance loans, one village at a time. 100% of all donations go directly to funding these projects. Glimmer’s endowment covers all its operating expenses and even replaces credit card transaction fees. Every dollar donated through Glimmer reaches the people in need. Over the last 10 years, Glimmer has completed more than 5000 projects and improved 2.4 million lives.
Our hearts have been opened up to something amazing. We never knew what plans God had for us. Just goes to show, if you just be patient it's all going to unfold exactly how it's supposed to. WE have seen this poverty first hand, We have touched it, We have shed tears over it, and yet SO much joy has been brought into our lives by the people of Ethiopia. We would love to someday serve in our children's birth country as missionaries, but until then we want to do whatever we can to make sure that children are not dying from the lack of food, water or diseases that could easily be treated. NO child should die from starvation. While we were there we watched children drinking out of mud puddles on the street. We saw women on the streets with their children crawling on them-not knowing if they were dead or alive. It's heartbreaking, it's real.
If there is anything you can give up for a day, if it's a $5 lunch, coffee, etc ANYTHING helps! This campaign will not just end at the end of the month. We are here to advocate for the people of Ethiopia every single day!
