My Campaign to Raise funds to develop Water and Sanitation for the village of Tercha through a General Fund Raising.
In 2004 and 2008, our family brought the most amazing daughters from around the world home and created a forever family. Astrid, from China, is now 7, and Akeyla, from Ethiopia, is now 3. We are dedicated to giving back as much as we can to their amazing home countries. To that end, me, Cindy, a novice runner, is RUNNING FOR HOPE in my first ever 5K run/walk , taking place in Asheville, North Carolina on March 26th. Why so soon? Why not train a bit more? Well – we are about $500 out from fully funding our second CLEAN WATER POINT in Tercha, Ethiopia, near Akeyla’s birthplace, and if we get the money in by the end of March, the funds will be on the ground doing their good work before this year’s rainy season sets in. I’m looking for small dollar amounts and lots of participation – if 50 people give just $10 each, I’ll reach my goal! Don’t worry – the unusual sight of me running will be well documented in photos and video and shared out on my Facebook page!
