I work closely with the executive director of A Glimmer of Hope Austin to ensure that Austin programs, applications and grants are running smoothly. Additionally, I manage the Glimmer Austin website, plan events and launch new initiatives. I joined Glimmer in early 2011 and have been blessed by the opportunity to work with a truly amazing team of people.
Born and raised in Austin, this city holds a special place in my heart! I was very fortunate to grow up in a comfortable home with my needs met and surrounded by people who love me. Many people in my surrounding communities are not as fortunate, which fuels my passion to help those suffering here in Austin. I absolutely love that Glimmer gives back to its home community.
Before joining Glimmer, I received a degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas, and I used all of that healthy knowledge to make desserts! I trained in New York City as a pastry chef and worked at Le Cirque as well as with Rob Ben Israel, founder of Rob Ben Israel Cakes. In addition, I am a chocolatier and owned my own wedding cake business, Cream. I helped open ZAX Pints & Plates from the ground up in 2003, and was the catering director with Sodexo for the University of Texas at Austin for the Frank Erwin Center, Bass Concert Hall and UT Athletics.
On a personal note, I love spending time with my family and friends! I am soon to be married, and feel truly blessed to be with such an amazing man to share my life with. Our nieces and nephews are the light of our lives! When I am not with my family and friends, I love to cook, travel as much as possible, enjoy good music, be creative and go outdoors. My deep faith in Christ is the cornerstone to my beliefs and decisions.
