Currently, I am working as a communications and projects officer at A Glimmer of Hope - Ethiopia. I work with the implementing partners to ensure that our projects are carried out according to the scope of our arrangements. I also create videos and still photos of our donor visits and future projects to document projects and inspire people to get involved in what we do.
I was born and brought up in Addis Ababa some 44 years back. Before I joined A Glimmer of Hope, I was a teacher at a public school in Addis Ababa where I taught kids English for 14 years. Prior to that, I worked as a reporter for the National Daily, The Ethiopian Herald for about seven years where I was in charge of social and development issues. Prior to that, I was employed by a local News Agency, Walta Information Center, and worked as a deputy editor-in-chief of the English news desk where I was also given the responsibility of heading, and writing articles for, the Agency's website.
I am married with two sons named Mussie, 10 and Eyassu, 8. I like having picnics with my family.
It is a privilege for me to work with an organization like A Glimmer of Hope that is supporting many of my compatriots in need. I appreciate and fully support the objectives of my foundation: 'helping people to help themselves'. That is why I am here and will always be here.
